Just months after the hose-pipe ban, bargain basement hot tubs are back on sale in Ireland.

Back in the boom, it was the ultimate symbol of Celtic Tiger affluence.

Irish shoppers rushed to snap up the bargain spa pools when Lidl launched them last year and bosses say anyone who missed out can get their hands on them from Thursday April 4.

The inflatable product includes a remote control which inflates the spa, controls temperature and turns bubbles on and off.

The supermarket giant tweeted the announcement on Monday morning, adding that the news ‘isn’t even an April Fools’.

Last month, Aldi announced that their inflatable hot tub was coming back into stores for €399.99.

Lidl boast that their hot tub has 360 degree all-round bubbles from 118 dynamic airjets, and is for indoor and outdoor use.

But the major difference in the two hot tubs is the litre capacity — Lidl’s one holds 700L of water in comparison to Aldi’s larger one at 795L.
